Hey everyone.

I just finished putting back together my 455 rancher after cleaning, and for some reason the clutch is grabbing all of the time? :bang: Any thoughts on what this could possibly be?

If you removed the clutch, you may not have lined up the clutch drum with the oiler properly before you reinstalled the clutch.

You may have popped off a clutch spring without noticing.

The saw may be on high idle.

Depending on how you cleaned it, you may have created a lean condition causing it to idle faster.

There are a lot of variables with what you have said.

Are you sure you put it back together correctly? If you had the clutch off, did you put the big washer back inside (does that have an outboard clutch..I am not familiar with that model), or did you reverse the clutch when you put it back in? Could you have blown crud in there so now it is binding?
