575 Muffler Mods?

Has anyone modded a 575xp muffler? If so did you go with pipes on the side or out the front? Any gains worth mentioning?

I haven't modded one, but with a convertor in there, it might be difficult. It should be worth the trouble if you do mod it, and they should be a lot of heat removed from the cylinder that should result in a longer running machine.
