Hi folks. Just got a new aftermarket muffler for my old 064 off of ebay.

MUFFLER Fits STIHL MS660 066 064 065 MS650 AFTERMARKET | eBay

It's supposed to fit 660/066/064/065/650. It doesn't. When I mount it to the motor, the 2 bottom holes that the muffler cover would bolt into don't come close to the holes in the saw body.

Is the bolt hole pattern for the muffler on the 064 actually slightly different than the 066? Can I actually get a replacement muffler for it? If not, what could I expect to get for it as a parts saw on ebay (it's a good runner, but no muffler of course).

Thanks a million for your replies

1122 140 0609 is the Stihl part number for the 064 muffler. 1122 140 0602 is the part number for the 066 muffler.

Went to the local Stihl dealer and had them order the muffler directly from Stihl. The part number was the one listed above for the 064. It still didn't fit! Same problem with the holes not lining up. My original muffler has a ventilated heat shield on the muffler cover, and the new one from Stihl does not for some reason. Is it possible this saw was manufactured somewhere like brazil or something and the parts are not interchangeable?
:bang:

Both the 0602 and the 0609 are listed for the 064.
Maybe you can take a few pics of the saw and the mufflers and someone here can get things straight for you.

Put spacers behind the lower holes and go cut some wood.

Steve.........066 cylinder is going out to you today......spec sheet in the box with timing numbers.

A laptop on the bench with plastic wrap over the keys.

You cannot put a 066/660 muffler on my 064 either. The bolt pattern is different.
Actually, I can't verify the bolt pattern, but my 064 definitely uses a different cover. Notice the shape of the bottom.

That's not the part number showing in my 1990 - 2006 064 IPL. It lists P/N 1122 007 1014 for the spark arrested muffler, and 1122 007 1013 for the muffler without the screen.
