I know this question comes up alot but I am wanting to get a saw to fill in the gap between my 395 and 266. Was thinking about a 372 before they quit making them or a 385. Don't really want a 576. Any thoughts?

Yeah the closest one to me is 153 miles. Not sure I would want to travel that far for service.

I would sell one of your 266's and get the other ported or sell both 266's and get a 372.The 372 will be lighter than the 266,I know I had a 266SE and now own a 371XP.

i got rid of my 266s.

nice saws but parts are tough to get and the 372 is a much better saw.

The 372 is looking like the winner. One of the local dealers has one for $839 but I know that is a high price. Seen one on the net somewhere for $699.

Since your a husky guy 372 but don't under estimate the 576 smooth easy handling saw. I ran a 372 and 576 side by side at our last get together. The deciding factor for me was the 372 will be going away soon. Also a note Im a Stihl guy who owns a 372 so Id say pretty unbiased assessment.

I do prefer Husky saws but that doesn't mean that the right deal on a Stihl can't happen. I ran a 046 a few years back and really liked it.

I like the 372xpw better than the ms460. They both have about the same power. The 372 seems to be a little lighter than the ms460. The xpw seems to have more torque than my 044. The 044 is a touch lighter than the 372 and 7900. I like it better than the 7900 for the handling with the wrap handle. I think the 390xp will be my new favorite saw. It doesn't feel much heavier than the 7900 or 372. It is noticably lighter than the 660. Any of those will be a good choice for an in between your others.
