Asplundh bucket operators....I need your help with my 2006 GMC C7500 8.1L Bucket Truck (former Asplundh truck)

I'm seeking the assistance of members that have run this same set up......as described in the message title. The truck's owners manual has very little information about this feature. I have found a little info on RV forums, as lots of large RV's use the 8.1L Workhorse, but most discussions describe its use with Allison Automatic transmissions, not my Easton Fuller 6 speed manual.

My questions:
1. Is this an 'Exhaust Brake' on the 8.1L gasoline motor?
2. If not, what is it?
3. How to use it?

I have the same truck. On mine that is for the strobes on the cage and rear box

I have.....can't seem to find the proper for it. Posts from the RV forums show that button as an 'Exhaust/Engine Brake'. I'll keep digging.

Mine has a seperate button for the stobes. Thanks for the response though.

I think the only exhaust brake offered on a gas chevy bucket was called “the downshift”. But I could be wrong.
