Hi everyone,
Last year I installed 4 Autumn Blaze approx. 20 ft high all in a row. They are planted in part sun and shade location. Only two of the four gave us a beautiful fall show of red color. The other two still have green healthy leaves and it’s almost the end of October. Would the remaining two turn red or could there be a problem.

Thank you in advance!

Yes, please post some pictures showing the full trees including bases, up close individually as well as a group.

Also, if there were any cultural variances that will not show up in the pictures, please describe. This might be planting practices, were they all the same (b n b, container, bareroot) planted by the same people in the same manner? Type of soil, does it vary? Aspect to any solid structures, are some of them close to a building while others are further away? If the picture shows a structure, what side are they on, north, south, east, west?

Are they watered the same? By what method, drip irrigation? sprinkler?

Anything you can think of, toss out there because you never know when a tidbit will be the relevant factor.

Thanks.

Sylvia

Consideration---

Trees of the same species that will retain chlorophyll late into the fall giving the leaf it's green color, is normally a healthier tree. A tree of the same species that turns fall colors, and drops it’s leaves sooner normally indicates stress.

Trees of different species or different gene pools may have some variation on their timing.
