Anyone had experience with one or both? Might have an opportunity to pick up a Hudson 18" Bandmill and am wondering if it's worthwhile or just toy size and not really usefull.
Not planning to get into the milling business just hate to see good logs go to waste but don't usually have enough at a time (or a big enough truck) to haul them to a mill. Plus I think it's pretty cool to personally take a tree and turn it into lumber and then build something with it.

I saw a little bitty bandsaw running at Nelsonville this.fall.Considering its size and hp[around 8],it did pretty good. The little tracks were only 2 inch angle iron that sat on the ground. There was also a little one that had a siding cradle on it.In other words you could set the log to roll side to side and make tapered cuts
I wouldn't imagine the production rates would be real great on these little mills but they will cut lumber.
