Cleaning a fence row & took down this Hickory, it was leaning away from the field some but I wanted to try to fell it into the field. No big deal if it doesn't work, good small tree to practice on. I am sure it would have worked, but the wind was pretty stiff today against the direction I wanted it to go. When I got in the back cut it was clear it was going the other way, so I just cut into the wedge side until it started falling. I think if I would have stayed in another half a second it would of been OK. No close call or anything the wind must have let up some, it fell oh so slowly as it was splitting. Probably took a full 5 seconds for it to come down. I forgot to take the picture before we pulled it off the stump.

Well at least nobody got hurt. thanks for the pic. It sure dosen't take long for a tree to do the wrong thing you told it to do.
