The only non runner 346/351 I have is a 346 that only needs a carb/carb cleaned.
Sounds like it's out of the OP's price range.

Yup, but he mentioned pretty, and I know you have pretty saws. You never know.
Just found me a clean clean 340 for $55 or £45 over here. Trashed top end but this means I can just by the cylinder riser and get me a 346 top end on it. Brap brap!! I got me an aluminium handle and a muffler bracket sitting somewhere too. Whoop whoopView attachment 611569

That's the best way to do it. I did a mag case last winter and I have so much $$$ into it I have no choice but to cut wood with it. Luckily I LOVE cutting wood with it

I have done the same with an 038 mag or two. Cost more to build than a decent 044 but I love them and can’t get rid of them.

Just ordered me a new used 346 carb (one on the saw is missing), a cylinder riser and an AM 350 45mm cylinder kit to play with.. All for $40 posted... Thought I would mess with the cylinder as @blsnelling did all those years ago.
