Our 100 year old, very large beech tree doesn't look too good this summer. The bark is fine, but the leaves are wrinkled, drier than normal and not as lush. Does anyone know what could be causing this. We would be so sad to lose this tree. Thanks!

There are numerous events/pathogens that can cause decline, most notaby age. Beech are suseptible to various rot fungi that can enter the vascular system causing decline and not manifest themselves right away. Post a few pictures, including the basal trunk area.
