I have a Stihl 064. I was running it and started acting up. I suspected it was the carburetor. I took it home and installed a carburetor off an old style 066.
I had to install the plate that goes behind the carburetor onto the 064 from the 066. The carb change cured the problem. The 066 carburetor was a Walbro. The carburetor I removed from the 064 was a Bing. I heard that you have to purchase Bing carburetor kits directly from Bing. I also heard that these kits are very expensive. Is this true.
