Buyer beware: ToolSteal.com rated F by BBB
On a Google search, I found a "Factory Reconditioned" Makita DCS540-18 chain saw listed for sale at $238.50. The online price looks too good to be true, so I checked ToolSteal.com out with the Better Business Bureau of the U.S. and Canada. Here is what I found: BBB Rating F
BBB Category: Tool Rental
RAF Supply, Inc. (D.B.A. ToolSteal.com), 2350 Hamburg Turnpike (rt 5), Lackawanna, NY 14218.
:chainsaw:
ToolSteal.com is peddling worn-out rental tools falsely labeled "Factory Reconditioned".
Avoid buyer's remorse. Don't buy from ToolSteal.com. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

just checked a few forums about that place....people feel they're really high with the prices for "reconditioned" tools. i thought they were too. you can get better deals on ebay for NEW dewalts stuff than what they're selling used stuff for.

as one poster said: don't buy from someone with "steal" in their company name...lol

And they had to work really hard to earn an F rating from the BBB.:monkey:

That is very surprising! They have over 43,000 feedbacks from eBay transactions. I have purchased numerous items from them and all the items were as described. They were very helpful and professional even when I was shipping to Belize. They do have a number of negative feedbacks but with that many transactions that is hard to avoid. The BBB may have listed that rating simply due to a couple of bad experiences.

That is why the BBB is a crock of googoo

For one thing a retailer has to pay to even belong. Then if someone gets the least little upset. They file a complaint rather than dealing with the store with their concerns.
A mole hill often gets exaggerated into a mountain in most cases.
Yes BBB is supposed to review each case, yeah like that happens.

Nationally, BBB is the biggest scam out there. (well, 2nd behind the federal government)
If you want an F rating from BBB, all you have to do is refuse to pay them blackmail money. If you want an A rating, just rob everybody in sight but stay current on your BBB member dues. It also helps to tell the BBB that complaints were 'resolved' when they weren't.

Take, for example, two sleazy debt buyers / collection agencies with putrid reputations:

Arrow Financial: Not a BBB member . . . Rated "F" . . . Based on exactly TWO complaints; Reporting "Closed - No Response".

Asset Acceptance: BBB member since 1997 . . . Rated "A+" . . . Based on 1082 complaints: Reporting "Closed - Resolved".

the best source to see if a company is good or not is the word of mouth customers who purchased from someone before that is the best way to find out about a company take me for instance i am not even n the bbb system i refused paying there 395.00 year fee why should i pay a fee for thats what i dont understand

do you know what a " C'' Corporation is ?

I don't think that I would buy anything from a business that had the word Steal as part of their name. Of course, then there are some who pronounce "Stihl" the same way.
ill keep pronouncing it that way until it starts pumping out alcohol! :greenchainsaw:

That's when you incorporate your business but don't file an election under subchapter S to be taxed like a partnership. Money you take out gets taxed as either wages or dividends. And you get to pay unemployment and FICA taxes on the wages. Profit you leave in the corp gets taxed at corporate rates. Very few small businesses opt for C corp treatment. Most are taxed as proprietorships, partnerships, or S corps (that last one is very similar to a partnership, but uses a different tax return).

Easiest thing to do if you want to put your business under a separate entity from yourself would be to form a single member LLC, which would be taxed as a proprietorship until you decide to opt for C corp or S corp treatment.

LMAO!

hoe about putting your monies with Burnie Madeoff.

the BBB is a crock of ****...
i went round and round with one of their henchmen about a year ago, he just could'nt stop telling me how wonderful the BBB was and that i just HAD to spend the $300.00+ dollars to be in their elite establishment of people/businesses....
i finally got real rude and said something like "look jackazz, i've been in business for 15 years without being a member of the BBB, so i don't think i'm gonna fail anytime soon without it"........
after that he got the point .......

I would never recommend buying a chainsaw from a box store or from the internet. I would buy from a local full-service dealer having a good word of mouth reputation.

Word of mouth reputations, good and bad, is one area where people living in/around small towns are better informed than those living in big, impersonal cities.
