Buying used saws?

I was at the local Stihl, Husky, Echo dealer today...(buying my echo CS330T - couldn't pass up on the deal $235 W/xtra chain and scabbard) when I noticed that they had 2 used stihl saws sitting on the floor for pretty reasonable prices. The first was a 039 w/25"bar for $275 (i think - might have been a little less) and other than bar paint wear it looked to ne in very good condition. The other was an 028 i think, it looked a little rough, and I didn't really look to closely at it. Does anyone have any advice, or experience with buying used saws. The sales guy told me that they go through all used saws and repair/replace anything that it needs. Any thoughts?

Well, I'd rather buy used from a dealer than from ebay. Look for the usual stuff, if they'll let ya- piston scoreing, compression, fuel tank, etc.

Most dealers will give an in store warranty...
