I am looking at buying a saw and was wondering if someone can please tell me if a PM 270 (Canadien) is a spur type chain drive or a rim type, (and if it is rim type what part number would it be for a new oregon chain and drive) also i would really like to know Max/Operating RPM and just for interest what sort of torque and HP rating would it have.

Also would anyone in New Zealand or Australia have parts listings or has old not going ones they wish to sell/part with?

Who else in New Zealand (on this site) has one of these?

Thank You very much.

it is a Canadien 270 (PM) with a 22" bar.

Chris

(I have checked Mike Acres site but it does not list this information there.)

so it IS a rim type sprocket rather than a spur? Wouldnt Oregon make one? The chain type is an Oregon 51C .404 pitch.

They are really helpful people. They may be able to cross reference with more info than is on the website catalog. They also do nice things like actually measure one to see if it will match what you have.
