On my New CS-4910 ive done the muffler mod and base gasket delete. To ensure i tune the carb correctly, ive hooked up a little tachometer to the spark plug to ensure RPMs are accurate to the manufactures settings.
My method for tuning the carb was as follows. Please let me know if its correct.
Turned in idle till chain just starts to move.
Turned Low screw out (about 2 full turns from seated) till idle was about 2800
Turned idle out (was a total of 3.5 turns from seated) till chain stopped, setting idle to 2700, which is what the manual says it should be.
Throttle response seems very good
Turned high out (about 3.75 turns from seated) till RPM was abut 13000. Manual says 13800 is what it should be, but i wanted to play is safe.

Please let me know your thoughts.

New saw - play it safe until broken.
After that, make that saw scream.
I have the 501p and all i did was muf mod and carb and it rips

Heres a clip from idle 2700 RPM to 13,000 RPM. The little tach im using is a little slow to keep up it would seem. Hows it look/sound to you guys?
Im using VP 40:1 fuel.

Sounds good to me.
My 501p must be close to 14k
