I just bought a used Toro compact electric chainsaw with no manual.
Toro web site has only a parts list - no manual.
There is a port which must be for adding oil. There is also a black button on top above and just forward of the trigger. Can anyone tell me:

1) What kind of oil should I use?
2) What is the button for? (I thought maybe it is to put oil on the chain or is that automatic?)

Thanks,

Model Number 51110
Serial # 0000001 - 0999999
Model Year 1980
Product Name 10"Electric Chain Saw
Product Brand Toro
Product Type Misc
Product Series Miscellaneous
Engine/Motor Manufacturer Shin-Daiwa
Engine/Motor Size# 8 amp
Transmission Speed NA

Chainsaw bar oil should be avaialble in any Lowe's or Home Depot, and in many hardware stores. For an electric, buy the cheap stuff.

That sounds like a death trap from hell. No brake, and electrics don't lose torque when they bog down into something, like your leg, just keep on cuttin'.

Oiler

I looked at some ads and some electrics do say they have auto oilers.
But who knows, it could have both.
Run it without the chain and see if any oil comes out at the top of the bar where the chain leaves the housing.

I like electrics for light work near the house.
Also fine for women who want to help.
