I am looking for varieties of apples that do well in sight of the mountains of Colorado. I've thought of asking people who seem successful, but often they can be secretive (crabby?) in discussing their success. I live in Colorado Springs on the prairie. We have a good bit of wind and drought, but I still want to grow apples!!!

Rome,Jonathan , Delicious, Lodi, And lots of others that are less common in our area. Apples will make fruit most years. Plums also. Peaches maybe half the seasons. Apricots rarely. Good luck!

I'm crabby, but not secretive.

Haralred is another--very fireblight resistant. (Lodi very susceptible).

Most apples are tolerant of the extreme weather changes around here, a good fruit tree to plant if fireblight resistant.
