crown reduction?

:monkey:i was reading about topping and the negative effects of it. i dont agree with topping along with those of you that know that it is bad practice. what about crown reduction? is that an alternative to topping? if so where can i find educational material to learn how to properly perform a crown reduction? preferably dvd or video.
