I find my CAD at it's worse (or best) in late summer when I remember that wood burning season is just around the corner. With chainsaws on the brain I decided to check out c.list to see if there were any decent saws mixed in with the dozens of wildthing's and saws that "just need the carb adjusted". Luck would have it that some guy was selling 2 echo saws; a 14" CS-340 for $150 and a 18" CS-400 for $200. I offered him $80 for the CS-340 shooting to settle at $100 and we did. Overall the saw was in good shape, it started on the 2nd pull, slung an average amount of bar oil and came with a brand new Oregon chain. $100 bucks and a handshake and she was mine.
I didn't notice 'till I got home that the exhaust cover was missing, no big deal I found one online for $4 bucks. After a quick washing I tweaked the carb, made some test cuts and she's good to go.
