Does this section of chimney look bad

Pulled off my single wall pipe off the wood furnace to replace it and the bottom of my chimney looks rotted

umm, yea. Thats not good at all.looks like that first section and the support box might be bad.

Is that considered double wall or triple I know the outside of the pipe is stainless

My best guess, considering it goes up through your living space or attic, would be a triple wall insulated "Class A" chimney system. Probably a selkirk or a duravent. If that piece is that far damaged i would have a certified sweep scope/inspect the entire system.

Can you take a picture of the chimney outside, if it's grey and not shinny stainless steel, then its close to 30 years old.
