Dear ArboristSite.com,
I have a dogwood tree in my front yard. This year I have noticed that the
leaves appear to be drier and crisper than usual with brown spots in the
middle. I was worried that the tree might not be getting enough water so I
provided additional water throughout the summer. The leaves still appear to
be the same and I am wondering if there might be another problem. Can anyone
please provide some advice or diagnosis? Any help or peace of mind would be
greatly appreciated. My wife loves this tree and would be deeply sadened by
its demise.

Steve, You omited your location in the post, so it is hard to answer the question.

Depending on the type of dogwood and your location it could be dogwood anthracnose.
