Is this how the intake clamp is supposed to be? 6401 Ex-rental saw.

I have an ex rental 6401 and just popped the cover off to see. I must have an older model, it has a standard screw and nut style hose clamp. Either way it's pointing up, so I'd say run with it.

Yep, that the newer style. I bought what I thought were going to be 044 style clamps to use on the infamous Husky plastic intakes and what you have there is what I got for the PN.
 
Has anyone had problems with these? I'm thinking a traditional clamp would be preferable, but maybe best to leave it alone.
 
You have to understand about Tim, he's kind of OCD about saws...

That is the truth! I used to get a lecture when I was working on airplanes. I always got accused of trying to build a new one, instead of just repairing what was there.

Anyway, this is for the guy whose fresh 460 blew up. I want to make SURE the Dolkita doesn't give him any trouble.
