I saw a reference to this as a rumor, first I knew about it. I just checked my 7900s and they came just after the serial number listed, assuming the numbers they give are the last digits of the sn on the saw.
Seems like a flywheel coming off at 12k could not be a good thing. I sometimes cut in some awkward positions when harvesting blocks, and the consequences don't really bear thinking about....
Or have a flywheel come loose just after one has started the saw with the handle between their knees. Maybe drop starting is safer than we knew.
