Dual port muffler cover and carb adjustment ms 460

Yes it was difficult, but I am new at working on saws and just assumed that was how it was being done. I was planning to get a new cap and put it back in with the tab removed. You mentioned it might not be necessary? What other way are the screws being held? I thought they would not hold position without the caps put back?

I think some carbs need it and some don't. If the screws are too easy to turn, I would definitely put them back in. Can't hurt to do so.

It does seem a bit too easy to turn. just to be safe I'm gonna put it back in.

Woodhaven- I did the same thing with my 460 and also had issues with one of the caps not coming out very easy but eventually got it. Mine drinks fuel too, but like you I would rather that than the alternative
