Is there much difference between the Echo 400 and the Echo 450? Is one a homeowner saw and the other a professional saw? Are they good firewood saws for cutting standing dead oak max diameter 20"-24"?

Thanks

both are good saws but both are home owner saws. 16 or 18 inch bars is about all you can run on either one of them. if you are cutting that big of logs then you need to go to an at least a 50 cc saw.. they both will wake up good with a MM and tuning after you trim the limiters

Standing dead oak in the 20-24in. range is at least 70cc. territory IMO. Regardless of the brand you chose. Occassional use a 60cc saw will do if you only have one saw.

20" - 24" is probably the biggest. I'd say 80% is 12" - 14" and smaller.
