It's been awhile since they did. My Echo CS-3900 has a nice, tight-fitting case. Stihl use to supply them custom-fitted, but that evaporated some time ago. Homelite offered them some 30 years ago and Sears Craftsman cases were popular during that era.It might show my age, but I can remember when all saws came with a case that fit. I just rebuilt a Stihl MS271, Stihl wanted $109 for a case, Echo case was $40.
Once the injection mold is made, it probably takes $2 worth of material to make a case.
