Echo CS-620 vs. Shindaiwa 600-SX

I understand the Echo CS-620 and the Shindaiwa 600-SX are the same saw and Echo owns Shindaiwa. Is this correct?

Do any of you saw pros / dealers know of any reason to choose one over the other?

They both have the same warranty. If they are the same saw, would a Echo Dealer do warranty work on the Shindaiwa?

Many years ago when GM owned Saturn, us Chevy guys won't do warranty work on them, we sent them to Saturn. Same saw different color, don't know how they would do the warranty work.

I herd the Shin isnt as good quality wise, but that's word of mouth. I can tell you as a 620 owner that if both saws are identical, I wouldn't pay any mind to the warranty. The first thing you should do to the 620 is pull the limiters. I mean they can be purchased if you do have to send it back, but those saws come lean. Least mine did. On another note, about two hours of work makes these saws real mean, and the parts you mod are all replaceable if there is a warranty issue.

Those limiter caps are around 75 cents each but tuned right you most likely will never use the warranty. Steve
