Anyone have any experience with estimating tree canopy cover from aerial images? Either with the ocular, dot grid, line intercept/transect or digital image analysis methods? I'm also interested in exploring measurement of canopy cover at edge of pavement (CCEP). Anyone used any of these methods? Anyone used a spherical densiometer in an urban forest environment? Thanks in advance....

nope

I do not have any experience with the methods. last year the USFS did a "fly over" to determine the canopy cover of Boston. Now there is talk of planting 100,000 new trees over the next ten years:dizzy:
