Is there a rule of thumb to figure the number of cords a tree will yield when cutting it for firewood.

500BF will yield a cord, on average. Tree sticks will help you calculate BF.

Tree stick:Biltmore stick which gives a vague estimation of bft(off the stump)A cord is measured in lenght height width and depending on how small your spltting your blocks.
