i got couple of fur tree, not sure of the english name.
they were planted in rows, about 4-5 wide, 400feet deep. a little to close to each other. they are quite tall but the middle and bottom dont get any sun so they are all dead (no green) except the top few feet where they have a couple of small branch. i got squirrels chopping off green and throwing it at the ground bellow.

so my question is:
if i were to clear the place a little, chopping off a couple to give them more light. will they regrow branch and green? its so dark at the ground bellow in the summer it feel like a swamp, no growth only moss and eaten piece of cone.

i hate conifers but leaf tree take 20years to grow 10feet tall here, so i have no choice but to keep them.
its the only "fence" around that side of the property.

note:
i heard about aspen? somekind of thin leaf tree that grows really fast.
are they easy to start? where could i order seeds online?
am currently growing seedlings of Siberian Peashrubs, but had a 10% germination rate.
