Anyone in here has a high hour gas chipper? Seeing what the lifespan of those chippers are. With all the emissions the new diesel engines must have with def, we are considering a gas chipper for a switch.

We run a few diesel bc1800xl’s and they have high hours, 3000-6000 hrs now. They still work but are in rough condition. Considering a bandit 18xp with the 165 hp ford engine. I’ve heard good about the Ford engines.

Anyone has any experience with longevity of the gas chippers?

I would not be afraid of a gas chipper, but would prefer a non emissions diesel if I had the choice. Gas will last a good long while if maintained, which is key for anything. For reference my old gas massey ferguson 35 is showing 6600+ hours on the hour meter and it is the most reliable piece of equipment that I have, it regularly sees use running my CH230 Valby chipper.
