I am in the process of setting up a UPS account for my business and bought a scale. What better way to see how it works than weighing saws. I weighed quite a few of them, here are the results. All have b&c installed, full of fluids, clean as a whistle. Keep in mind your mileage may vary slighlty. The 460 and 650 have dual dogs and roller catcher.

MS211 14"E light ........ 11.84
PP295 15"................... 13.92

No-no but its only weights this much!

At the shop I use an old inaccurated fire extinguisher scale (a giant brass fish scale device) to svae the ole left arm right arm weight comparrison. So many are amazed by the (346NE) tag of 11lbs then add just a bar and chain................then again depends upon which one etc..............just so people and have a real visual of hey that one was heavier but should be lighter according to.............

Yes forum members even the mighty 346 quickly becomes a 20lb light sabre! Does one notice 1 more cc? nope does one notice one extra pound..........nope.........10cc hell yes, 2 lbs hell yes!

I use a small mechanical scale from livestock supply , for weighing baby lambs. The large hook is perfect for holding the saws by their handle, showing how well the saw balances with bar attached. Scale works great for minimal expense. :)

Ocd

Haha, you all have OCD!

I only know because I do, and I did the same thing last week with bars and chains on my grain scale.
The Oregon "Pro Lite" bar did not feel lighter than the Stihl ES (not the light version). And I was right, less than 1 pound. The difference is made up with a full skip chain on the ES.
"Built for lightweight", eh? Har

Also, despite what stihl's spec-sheets say, a clean and dry 441 is noticeably heavier than a 440.
