A neighbor needs a hand cutting down a moderately big tree, the
trunk is about 30" DBH and the leaves look like the palm frondy
sumac, with more of a weeping willow shape. There are also
seed pods or fruits, they smell like lemon detergent, are somewhat
woody in texture and when cut in half, have a strange compartmented
interior with translucent pockets and a strong lemon scent. The fruits
are about 1.5 to 1.75" in diameter. I can get some pictures posted
if needed.

Secondary, if someone can ID it, any good for firewood?

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Aye, don't have one of those snazzy phonecams, still back
in the 12th century, I'd imagine the round lemon like pods
would be a good tipoff :)

Very much so, but would it smell like lemon soap? or is that
what the early nuts look like. That pretty much looks like the
beast. ... Hmm, one site does call it the 'lemon walnut' so
we might well have the answer.

Thanks a ton
