I have a Homelite 340 parts saw. As many may know this saw share most parts with the Homelite 290 as well as the Solo 654 & 647. The saw actually barely runs and only for a few seconds. I put a carb kit in it and got the same results. I'm just not interested in fooling with it, I have other more interesting projects. The piston has some light scoring so I am going to call this a parts saw although the compression still feels pretty darn good.
Other than the light scoring on the piston and thus probably the jug the saw is a complete powerhead, the coil works and the oil pump squirts oil during the few seconds I can get it to run so I assume it is working fine. I would prefer to sell as a whole just to get it out of the way but if someone is in need of parts I will consider parting it out, depending on what is needed.
The plastics and covers are also in very good condition with only light scratches.
