Homelite XL 8-inch bar DL count

(I asked this same question of a forum member who has an 8-inch bar, but I'm not sure I did it right, so I'll ask here, too, with apology for any duplicate effort.)

I have a new Homelite 8-inch bar I want to put on an older (late '70s) Homelite XL. The bar mount is the same as for 10- and 12-inch bars; it is 3/8 pitch and .050. But I don't know how many drive links to look for when I buy a chain. The bar has no DL info stamped on it or on its factory packaging. Can anyone tell me how many DLs a chain for an 8-inch bar should have? I'll appreciate any and all advice.

I did the same thing, put a 8 inch bar on a little Homelite XL. You need 37 drive links of 3/8 lo pro chain.
