Thanks to t4driller I was able to get this saw back together today. Big thanks to him and all you guys on this site! I will try to crank it tomorrow and hopefully get it tuned.
Did you use grease to hold the needles in til you got it all bolted together. Also how'd your homemade gasket work out. I was glad I was able to help you out. I just would of liked to see your face when you opened the box up.
Yep, used grease to hold the needles. Worked great. Gasket worked good too. And after the week I had that surprise put a big smile on my face. I can't thank you enough!
It runs again! I set the high and low at 1 1/2 turns out, pulled the choke, and it fired right up. Now I just need to find something to cut and make sure it's tuned correctly this time. Again, many thanks guys! I would have to say my first rebuild project is a success!
I have had CAD for a while, just going deeper. I have a bunch of saws in various stages of repair. This was my first saw, I believe, if I don't count a plastic Homelite that broke before I got this one. I trashed it.
Another good thing is the junk Homelite has a good 16" bar and chain on it I am going to try to modify it to fit my P41 Pioneer. I might get 2 runners going.
