How much horsepower? And Torque?

That is not interesting, unless you have a 041 cylinder and piston.

Is it not possible to put all these threads in to one, that would help.

Standard 041[44 mm bore],3.7 hp at 7000 rpm,torque 3.8 Newton meters at 5000 rpm.Source,Stihl micro film.

Its an old fashioned version of a modern day spec sheet of sorts, it tells much about almost all things old.

I wonder If Stihl made a spec sheet for the 041 AVE super.

I'm curious as to how well red dyed synthetic oil, at 46-1, would work in one.

You don't know what micro film is? Okay then, let's try this: You will obtain maximum housepower & torque with your 041 Super when you run it WOT with straight gas.

:) Yes indeed they run real fast on straight gas, unfortunately they don't run long.

Al Smith,
I have a 041, manafactured in about 1974. Last fall I put a tack on it and it spun well past 10,700.This saw is a screamer.155 pounds of compression. Using Amsoil 80-1, Ken

The Hp and torque ratings were taken at a specific rpm,not necessary the max rpm, when tested. An example ,not related to saws,is a John Deere 70 gas.The governed rpm is 975 but max torque is at 805 rpm.All internal combustion engines have a power/torque curve,a power band,if you prefer.Depending on the engines design, this could be high, low ,or perhaps ,mid range on the rpm scale. As an example of design, the 038 also 61cc,is rated at 4 hp at 9000 rpm and 3.7 Newton meters at 6500 rpm.Max rpm ,given is 12,000.Once again the reference was Stihl.

That looks like it came from Mikes site. Some of the hp,torque and rpm ranges are hard to find.I have a collection of McCulloch,Stihl And Homelite literature, but not all the ratings are listed.

I think it is only fair to give credit when copying information. This is from Chainsaw Collectors Corner, no doubt.
Post a link instead, it is more fair.

all ecept mine is an super. almost the same as yours kenskip.
What a coincidence--same as I run my Stihl 041 at and same oil. Except my Stihl 041 is a Husky, and my oil is Stihl 50:1. It's the same otherwise though.

Don't take it so personal. I was just trying to offer some helpful info. Talk about not fair; Why don't you just cry over it. Get a life and quit being so miserable. Is that info not for the general public to refer to?
