Here's a very nice example of a 181SE.
It runs as good as it looks. The thin ring piston is flawless, with the factory machining marks still very visible. This saw is a real survivor, the top cover and starter still have the white paint on them. The rear handle is solid, it's not starting to separate at the seam like many of these do with age. The AV is like-new. The plastics are not faded and still have plenty o' shine to them. Chainbrake works as it should, and the band is in excellent condition.
The only defect is a chip in the crankcase, as shown in a closeup photo. It's inconsequential in my opinion, as that area is plenty reinforced. Beyond this, there are no cracked or broken parts on this saw.
I can include a set of OEM spikes if someone would like them.
If you've had a hankerin' to see what the alleged "Thin Ring Magic" is all about, this is an excellent opportunity to see what a very healthy 181SE will do.
$575 + the ride.
