Is worth while to upgrade to a 288 cylinder. Do notice any difference?

Booth run great, I actually prefer the 281 myself, all 3 of mine are ported.

Look for a 181 cylinder for on it is my recommendation, cheap and plentiful on eBay used OEM, or message @rattler362 he has a good many. The chber is smaller on the 181 and direct bolt on, then order a new meteor 281 piston 35.00 from wolf Creek saw shop

I've run my buddy's 281 and I like it a lot. I can't see why putting a 288 cylinder on one wouldn't make it even more awesome.

With 281's, port the crap out of 'em, toss in a pop up piston and it'll jerk your arm off and pull a 42 inch bar decently. What more could you ask for?

Dang that's a lot of bar on that saw. Who did your port work? I have a 181 I want to port.

We don't know who ported the saw. My brother got it off of an ex-logger for $200 set up like it is in the picture. For years we assumed that it was a normal 281, right up until a local saw porter informed us that the saw was highly modified.
