I'm looking at getting the Husqvarna 562XP. My current saw is an old Pioneer P42 and I think it's time for an upgrade (though I'm sure many of you will disagree ;) http://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/pioneer-chainsaws.70698/). One thing I love about the P42 is that there's a handle on 3 sides. I see the 562 is offered in two versions: a 3/4 wrap handle and a full wrap. I think the former is found on the 562XP while the latter is on the 562XPW (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm a biologist, not a lumberjack/arborist and as such I'm unfamiliar with the terminology. I was just wondering if someone could explain the difference between the two or, better yet, post an image of each.

I see for example the saw in this thread has a handle on two sides. Would this be the 3/4 wrap?

Here is an image of one with what appears to be handles on 3 sides. This is what I'm looking for. Is this the full wrap?

Most importantly, however, I see on the Husqvarana website that the the 562XPW doesn't have all of the features of the 562XP (it's missing autotune, air injection and x-torq, among other things). Is this accurate? It seems odd to me that they'd remove a bunch of features just to add a full handle bar.

I'd appreciate any advice, thank you.

The picture with the handle on three sides is the 3/4 wrap. I can't understand why the xpw doesn't have the standard xp features, but it's right there on the husky site. I'm pretty surprised and confused by that.

That's not right. They are all x-torq (Strato) saws, and all auto-tune. The only difference is the handle. The website is messed up.

The standard handle is typically called a half wrap, like the one on this 262xp that I sold...

A 3/4 wrap has an extra handle on the clutch side, but doesn't wrap all the way under the saw. I swapped a 3/4 wrap onto my 562xp in just a few minutes...

A full wrap makes a loop and wraps all the way under the saw, like the one on my 357xp...

Thanks all for your replies. The naming makes sense, I was just confused because the dealer said the 362XP was available as a 3/4 or full wrap when it really seems to be a 3/4 or half wrap. Anyways, ended up getting the 362XPGW with a 24" bar. I don't need the heated grips or carb but it was the cheapest I could find with the 3/4 wrap. It looks great; can't wait to fire it up tomorrow. Just to confirm what cgraham1 said, the saw does in fact come with the x-torq engine and autotune (it's stamped right on the side).
