Never heard that before. Far as I know, some pretty reputable guys build saws out of mismatched cases everyday. These case half’s are machined assembled there matching. Feeling lucky if you swap halves? A 50/50 chance.
The Stihl ones are supposed to be machined together and have issues matching up. I’ve done several half swaps and never saw a noticeable difference. These case half’s are machined assembled there matching. Feeling lucky if you swap halves? A 50/50 chance.
I've done a pair of mismatched cases, squeeled like a pig! Seemed OK at first, but after some light use, it was a no go. YMMV. For the record, it was a Stihl.Never heard that before. Far as I know, some pretty reputable guys build saws out of mismatched cases everyday.
No sir, I am interested in what you have, but I'm pretty sure the shipping from B.C. to Michigan would be a killer.Have you found a case half yet?
I have some good ones.
What does YMMV stand for??I've done a pair of mismatched cases, squeeled like a pig! Seemed OK at first, but after some light use, it was a no go. YMMV. For the record, it was a Stihl.
Actually the shipping from Canada to the lower 48 is a fixed rate meaning, it's the same cost to Washington state or Michigan for the same parcel. No sir, I am interested in what you have, but I'm pretty sure the shipping from B.C. to Michigan would be a killer.
Your milage may varyWhat does YMMV stand for??
