If you think sipral screw splitters are dangerous?

there are alot of these around here .
in the last 5 years there has been more wood split with these than hydraulic splitters .
no one has been hurt .
most of what we cut and split is white popalar and it splits easy .

It looks like they split what they can off the outside and then throw a big chunk on the conveyor?? Hardly looks efficient.
 
the guy drives what looks like a new truck...but opts to use a log splitter that appears to have been built in the late 1800's.

go figure.
 
I have seen them on the front of a bobcat. Would work good for breaking up the 3-4ft rounds.
