Is this a beech or an ash?

In all seriousness, I've read somewhere that the beech tree is related to some tropical species that migrated north during a global warm spell - and then adapted as the climate cooled.

If I'm fulla #### on this, I'm sure someone with a plant biology background can set me right.

That buuubaboa thing has smoothish bark kinda reminiscent of beech. As are some of the trees you seen in Cambodian rain forests, etc.

Gary and I will cut it down!

We will just argue what saw brand to use!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the UK and we have plenty of oak, beech and ash and I have never seen anything like that monster.

English Oak bark isn't smooth, Ash bark is a smoother affair on younger trees and a bit like oak on older ones and beech the smoothest so some sort of tropical beech is possible I suppose.

Don't think my equipment is big enough
