I have a Sierra 2000 stove that's seen about 20 years of heavy use.
As a result the flame shield (for lack of a better term) a 10" x 8" plate welded to the back of the fire box has sagged/drooped.
My question is would jacking it damage the stove. My plan is to place a chunk of 6x6 wood under a bottle jack to disperse the force on the tiles work without causing damage.
My only other thought is to use an angle grinder to remove about 2 inches of material.
The reason is that the sagging has reduced the amount of wood I'm able to load at any one time. Normally it's not a problem but at night it would buy me another two hours of unattended use.
