Those are neat old saws. I liked the one I had but it was just too heavy for an old man.
How long did Echos build saws with the horizontal cylinder configuration? I guess I thought they were always vertical...
No idea sorry.
Mine was built in 1978. I don't know when they changed.

My CS-610EVL horizontally-opposed 60cc twin was manufactured around 1986.
I've seen and heard quite a bit about those saws, very neat that you have one!

Despite rumours at the time that the Aussie Army were evaluating them for a bulk purchase, I didn't buy one ñew:
A. They were expensive;
B. Surprisingly, not that powerful; &
C. A bit on the heavy side (not eñtirely unexpected for a twin).
However, they nearly match the advertising of not falling off a stump whilst sitting idling.
