hi, i would be greatful for some advice. ive got a jonsered 49 sp. it,s got plenty of compression and starts and runs fine for about half an hour then stops then won,t start again only if i strip and clean the carb, though i never find any dirt etc. any ideas?

What happens if when you've run it for the 1/2 hour and it quits you just let it sit for awhile and then try to start it? It may not be your removing and cleaning the carb that allows it to restart but the time the saw spends cooling while you do that.

Is your gas tank vent line clear? Will it run without stalling if it doesn't have the gas cap on?

Do you have all the gaskets you should have in place?

How about spark too. Does it still have spark when it cuts out? If it does, then your ignition is fine and the things retoocs555 mentioned are likely where it lies. If there is no spark, your coil may be breaking down.
