Hi there.
Noticed some fine scratches on the exhuast side of the jug and was wondering if they were normal on a two stroke?
They are very fine and can only be seen if the light is at the right angle, finer than the cross hatch that is still there.
Took the muffler off to take a look and found the piston is perfect and not much carbon.
Thanks.

Sounds like normal marks from use to me. They could be from dirt getting through your air filter, but if they are as fine a scratch as I am picturing, they are likely normal and nothing to worry about.

Sounds like you are running a tad lean, in time it will be much worse.
I could make a good jug/wife joke, but I have way too much respect for the members here.

RU nuts,or what :) I caught it,if nobody else did.

Thanks for the reply.
The air filter is always clean and spray'd with oil.
Always run on the rich side, into the blubber at WOT and under max rpm.
Sounds like normal wear then? Not used to these two stroke thingies!

What kind of filter are you using that you have to oil it? Most chainsaw filters are a dry type that doesn't require oil to work properly.
