just bought a used 034 super that needed a few things to make it right. one of those things was a carb adjustment. i did it the old fashioned way by "ear" so that it sounded like it was getting the RPM's up there and idled nice too. then a friend told me that it "sounds" like i'm running my saw to lean and getting too many RPM's now i'm worried that i'm going to start smoking bearings and the piston. Im mixing a 32:1 oil mix, and it doesn't smoke or carbon up anywhere. what is the proper procedure for adjusting carbs?

Start by resetting both your carb needles (H and L) to exacty one turn out from gently seated. The saw will run and assuming it's in decent shape and not modified, be quite close to the optimal setting.

Then do a search on AS for carb tuning... a plethora of information has already been typed....

Also, go to www.madsens1.com - they have a section on carb tuning.
