On the small model log grapple loaders, how does the boom rotating mechanism work? It looks as if there are 2 hydraulic cylinders on each side at the base of the boom. Just for curiosities sake......

Those are usually a pull/pull set up with a heavy chain between them that engages a sprocket on the boom.
If you see one with one cylinder on one side and what looks like bit of tube on the other that is often a gear and gear rack set up.
