does take a little grinding to make that happen. if you pulled the muffler on my old xpw youd see what it looks like after being run for a year. there was more carbon than i expected on the floor of that shelf but only on one side :confused:

i dont know if it messes with the flow pattern or not,but i can say that my xpw is one mean saw. dont know how much that has helped or hurt it. i tried it on a saw as a before and after and couldnt tell a difference in my hand,maybe with a stopwatch but no seat of the pants feel

That style exhaust port will help more on an engine with little blowdown. I've noticed it on the new Husky stratos with their short blowdown figures.

If you've already ported a saw for more blowdown, you probably won't gain much, if anything. Its probably a good trick to try before you start raising the exhaust port.

I didn't get anymore pics. But the saw is together and running very, very well. I'm amazed at how strong this thing is for a 50cc saw.

Video and pics of the muffler mod tomorrow. :msp_thumbup:

:cry: :cry::cry:

:msp_thumbsup::cheers::blob4::msp_thumbsup:

The rest was just reassembly, and we've all seen a saw go back together. The primer bulb no longer works, no place on the 357xp carb for it to hook up, and I ain't drilling holes in a new carb. I made a deflector for the muffler, looks good IMHO. I hope the ########## who owns the saw likes it. :(

Here's the saw stock. At this point all I've done is sharpen the chain. It's running semi chisel 7 pin .325 and it feels like the rakers are a tad low. Oh BTW the wood is hickory that's getting harder each and every day.

Here's the saw with the same chain and bar setup after porting. Again hickory that would dull a woodpecker's lips.

Same setup but putting more pressure on the saw.

Same setup in softer wood. I would like to stick a .325 8 pin and a race chain on this #####. :laugh

A shot of the muffler mod.
